Fundament

Fundament is an off-site exhibition happening in New Forest as well as an experiment in planetary communication. Using DTMF tone encoding transmitted through a 27 MHz citizen-band system, the work broadcasts text into open air—an analog signal intended to drift within the noise of the cosmic microwave background.

Language here becomes energy: a sequence of tones translated into electromagnetic vibration, merging with the universe’s residual radiation. Collaborated with Hao Huang under the name of 1:4:9.
