Type-II Superconductor

Type-II Superconductor visualizes the hidden quantum dynamics within superconducting materials through real-time GPU computation, offering a rare glimpse into a world normally beyond human perception. Based on the Ginzburg–Landau equation—a cornerstone of superconductivity theory—the work simulates how magnetic fields penetrate a Type-II superconductor, giving rise to swirling quantum vortices. These vortices manifest in two distinct visual states: at times, they resemble the folded complexity of protein molecules; at others, they explode into turbulent patterns evocative of the first nanoseconds of an atomic detonation. These shifting configurations reflect the paradoxical nature of quantum systems—simultaneously ordered and chaotic, delicate and volatile. Type-II Superconductor invites viewers to contemplate whether the mind itself might arise from similarly mysterious and dynamic quantum processes.
